We’ve tried to answer all of your questions about Ninja Academy in our FAQ’s, but just in case we missed something, you can Contact us and we’ll be happy to answer any other questions you may have.
What is Ninja Academy?

Ninja Academy is Perth’s premier mixed movement and obstacle based training facility.  Find out what makes Ninja Academy one of the most dynamic training centres in Perth on our About page.

Where is Ninja Academy?

Ninja Academy is located at Unit 7, 443 Scarborough Beach Road, Osborne Park, Western Australia, 6017.  Check out the Contact page for details on how you get in touch with us.

What can I actually do at Ninja Academy?

Ninja Academy provides you with access to a wide variety of training styles all under one (admittedly large) roof, including a Ninja Warrior-style obstacle course, parkour section, and bouldering wall. Get the full list in the Facility section.

What should I wear/bring to Ninja Academy?
We recommend wearing comfortable, athletic attire.  We only have open lockers, so it’s best not to bring any valuables with you. While some of the areas at Ninja Academy are barefoot friendly, you will need shoes if you want to use the bouldering wall, obstacle course, or parkour area. We also encourage you to bring a water bottle and a sweat towel with you. We have water available for purchase, but unfortunately don’t have a water fountain available just yet.
I haven’t done this sort of thing before and it looks really hard, is Ninja Academy only for elite athletes?

Not at all!  In fact, Ninja Academy’s founder was an accountant before he turned Ninja.  While there are some very skilled people at Ninja Academy who can do amazing things, everyone has to start somewhere.  That’s why we’ve made sure there’s something for people of all skill levels at Ninja Academy. The Elements classes are a great place to get started, and our Staff are experts who can design a program for you if you’re looking for a little more guidance.

Is Ninja Academy safe?

Ninja Academy is dedicated to providing a safe environment for people to train.  While we can’t promise that you won’t get hurt, we’ve done everything we can to mitigate the risks and make our facility as safe as possible. It’s important to note that there are inherent risks in any form of sports or physical activity making it impossible for us to completely eliminate the risk of injury.  Keep in mind that this risk is sometimes what makes an activity exciting and fun, but none of our obstacles are designed to electrocute you. Fun Fact: The idea for Ninja Academy came after our founder was injured during a mud run.  The thought of “there must be a safer (and cleaner!) way to train” is what got the ball rolling and eventually turned into Ninja Academy.

Do I have to be a member to train at Ninja Academy?

No, but non-members are only able to use the facility at certain times. We have dedicated “Freestyle” sessions, which are unstructured training times where non-members are encouraged to come and try out our facility. Non-members are always welcome to attend Classes at Ninja Academy. If you want to have access to “Open Training” then you’ll need to become a member. Check out the Membership page for more information on what membership options are available.

Can kids train at Ninja Academy?

While Ninja Academy is predominantly an adult playground (we can’t let kids have all the fun!) we understand the importance of providing kids with a movement practice from a young age. We have dedicated kids classes available for kids, but outside of the kids classes, you have to be 16 years or older to use the facility. Please note that everyone under 18 will need a parent or guardian to sign the disclaimer form before training at Ninja Academy.

So what is Ninja Warrior?

Ninja Warrior is a TV show that originated in Japan (where it is called “Sasuke”) which sees 100 competitors take on a gruelling four-stage obstacle course. The combination of obstacles is extremely challenging, to the point where the whole course has only been completed by three people in the world, making it the ultimate physical test. Ninja Warrior has now spread to America and Europe, where it has become hugely popular, and can be found on SBS 2 on a regular basis. We’re willing to bet there’ll be an Australian version of Ninja Warrior by 2017.  Until then, Ninja Academy is home to the first multi-stage Ninja Warrior-style obstacle course in Australia (we haven’t found anything like it in the Southern Hemisphere, but we say Australia just to be safe!). Check out our Ninja Challenge Course for more details on what to expect.

Alright, I’m totally keen – where do I sign up?

Awesome!  We can’t wait to see you at Ninja Academy. Check out the Getting Started page for details on how you can get started training at Ninja Academy.
